Ingredients

For the Salad:

  • 4 cups mixed greens (arugula, spinach, or spring mix)

  • 1 cup strawberries, halved

  • 1 cup peaches, sliced

  • 1 cup pineapple chunks

  • 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese

  • 1/4 cup candied pecans or walnuts

For the Dressing:

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Fresh mint or basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill to medium-high (375–400°F / 190–205°C). Brush the grates with oil to prevent sticking.

  2. Grill the Fruit: Lightly brush the strawberries, peaches, and pineapple with olive oil. Grill for 2–4 minutes per side until caramelized and slightly smoky.

  3. Prepare the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper until emulsified.

  4. Assemble the Salad: On a large platter or in a salad bowl, arrange mixed greens. Top with grilled fruit, crumbled Gorgonzola, and candied nuts. Drizzle with the balsamic dressing.

  5. Garnish and Serve: Add fresh mint or basil for a pop of color and extra flavor. Serve immediately.

Tips for the Perfect Grilled Fruit Salad

  • Use firm, ripe fruit to prevent it from falling apart on the grill.

  • Mix textures: The crunch of nuts contrasts beautifully with soft, juicy fruit and creamy cheese.

  • Add variety: Try adding grilled pears, figs, or apples for seasonal twists.

  • Balance flavors: Sweet fruit, tangy cheese, and a touch of honey in the dressing create perfect harmony.

Why This Salad Works

Keeping the skin on the pear, cut straight down one side, then the opposite, leaving the core.
Cut the two remaining sides off of the core (the pieces will not be even).
Brush a small amount of oil on the pineapple, peaches, and pear to prevent them from sticking to the grill. Sprinkle all sides of the fruit with pepper.
